About Us
A Place to Relax and Heal
Phola La is a beautiful bed and breakfast and events facility situated along the tranquil Holiday Street in Melmoth. Our name, “Phola La,” carries a special meaning, translating to “take a break and relax here,” or “Heal here”. We have built our B&B on this philosophy, creating a peaceful environment where every guest can unwind, recharge, and feel rejuvenated.
Our property is defined by its eye-catching thatched roof, a signature feature that also graces our lovely dining room. This traditional design not only offers unique charm but also keeps our interiors cooler in the warm summer months and wonderfully warmer in winter. Paired with our signature deck, which overlooks the rolling hills and valleys of Melmoth, Phola La is a truly picturesque destination.
Strategically located, Melmoth town is a central hub with easy access to Eshowe, Empangeni, Nkwaleni, Nkandla, Babanango, Ulundi, Nongoma, and Vryheid. We are also highly visible and easy to find for guests travelling on the R66, making us the ideal stopover.

For your entertainment and relaxation, all our rooms are also equipped with DSTV and a TV. Many of our rooms also feature a private balcony, allowing you to step out and enjoy the garden views.
